On Thursday nights I would definitely say Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney. Thursday is a cast member night where Disney Cast members are able to enter for free, and a lot of CP's (college program, interns) go. There are different clubs here for all types of music and entertainment that you may enjoy.
Downtown Orlando also has a nice nightlife but depending on what time of year you plan on coming depends on whether it is teen night or not.
Citywalk at Universal isn't too big on week nights, but does pick up during the weekend especially on Sat. night.

Downtown Disney would be a great place to go. There's a bunch of different clubs at Pleasure Island as well as an outdoor stage with live entertainment. There's the House of Blue which has music, Bongos Cuban Cafe which also has music and dancing, there's the AMC 24-Theatre Complex if you want to see a movie, or you could splurge and go see the most incredible show you'd ever witness, Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba. Not to mention there's about a hundred other fabulous restaurants and shops. There's also Disney's Indoor Interactive Theme Park. Best part about it, the admission into Downtown Disney is free, unlike the Disney Parks. But you do have to pay admission into Pleasure Island and Disney's Indoor Interactive Theme Park.

I have to answer the question with a question. What do you mean by nightlife? Straight or Gay. Oldies or the hottest clubs. Theater, Movies or Jazz clubs etc.
You can get most of that at Pleasure Island/Downtown Disney if you are at the parks. A LOT of the staff is Gay, the clubs are varied and loads of fun shows going on. Music from Rock to top 40 to oldies or disco. Its the best value for the money. Movies are there, too. Also can normally catch some Jazz and wonderful meals. You probably won't want to miss it.

Thursday is world renowned (not really) Pleasure Island night. There are tons of yound people there...like me! Also Cowboys in Downtown Orlando. They have better drink specials. Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk in Disney is really popular too.

Thursday nights around Disney: Try pleasure island. It's College Program night which means a ton of college aged kids letting loose and looking to hookup.
Downtown: Chillers.

My choice is Downtown Disney. (I love the Irish pub there called Raglan Road)

Definitely depends on your age but everywhere is hopping on Thursday...try dowtown Orlando there's lots of clubs there, or if you wanna pay you can try Citywalk at Universal.

There's plenty of nightlife along South Orange Blossom Trail (US 17-92), but it might be a little too intense...
