In the fields where sugar cane was formerly grown, there are now a lot of specialty crops such as macadamia nuts and fruits such as papaya and mango.

mostly nothing but water, Hilo is on the north coast so there isn't anything. To the west are a variety of items such as papayas, some pineapple, etc.

Hilo has all sorts of vegetable crops but along the coast you will find both Bananas and pineapple
