sometimes it requires little effort, and sometimes it's like talking to a brick wall

This probably doesn't sound that "tough" when compared with some of the other stories you often see on this website and in books/movies... but it was moving to the u.s. I moved here from Israel the summer before fifth grade and it was SUCH a big change. I was used to living two streets away from my grandparents, uncles, aunts, great-grandparents and best friends. I used to be able to run around barefoot and buy candy whenever I wanted to swim in the river that goes through the middle of "town" (which isn't really a town), and go over to my friends' house whenever I wanted and to ride my bike around and have to ride in a car (which I hated) maybe once a month or two. But when I moved here I had to learn a completely new language, make new friends, get used to a new house in a new country with completely different people and culture. It was hard, and still is a little bit, especially keeping in touch with the friends and family that I miss so much back home... but I am so so happy I moved. My life would be nothing if I hadn't, there are so many things I wouldn't have known about myself and so many people I would never have met if I hadn't moved. So yeah, pretty typical, but still. Hope things get better for you, and happy holidays (:

Some people never get things through their heads...they just keep on making the same mistakes over and over and then complain that things are always going wrong in their lives...I am convinced that some people are just plain addicted to drama!

I can put a shoestring in my left ear and pull it out of my right ear. Is that what you mean?
