There are many, many privately-run foreign exchange programs for both high school (gymnasia) and university students. Just enter "foreign student exchange" into the American Google or/and other search engines. If you are accepted it would be arranged for you to live with an American family and study at an American school for a year.

Yes, Boston (Actually Boston/Cambridge) is a very interesting place, one of the few European-like cities in the USA, and with more universities and university students than any other city in the world. Like most American cities it also has Spanish-speaking neighborhoods, but also many that are Portuguese.

You need to contact someone in your own country first that can act as an agent to set up an arraignment. If you stay with a family than that family must first be approved by a responsible agency. If you are Catholic, for example, you could ask help from the church. Many people in this country are not native English speakers. So it shouldn't be difficult for you to function as you learn to speak English better. Find out as much as you can about the US and Boston. Remember, the winters here can be quite severe. But unlike most other cities in the US, Boston is very youth originated. I'm sure that you would like that. It is an easy city to get around in (except by car). The public transit system is very good. Even for a large American city, Boston retains an old world charm. It is not just a collection of large buildings. I think you would enjoy Boston, provided that you do things the correct way and not rush into a decision.

There are a number of exchange programs. We have had exchange students from Spain and France and Brazil and Japan. Some of these are summer programs where you would be in Boston for anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. Ask your guidance counselor at school.
