You have my sympathy! When I was young I used to play the piano (which I loved). However, when it came time to play in recitals, I would be so overcome with stagefright that I eventually gave it up. Now that I am older and wiser I wish I had stuck with it instead of letting it defeat me. I often think of the piano with such fondness. Try deep breathing and focus entirely on the piece you are playing. This should help. Good luck!

As a former church pianist, I can relate to that feeling. But you can use it to your advantage. The adrenalin can give you confidence. Before you get up there breathe deeply to keep calm. Make sure all your music is in place, and know that all the people listening are friends. Even if you make a mistake, they as a church will always be there to support you. Good luck.

Even if you are the one they're all looking at, it's STILL not about you! You're there to glorify and praise God, not to show off your abilities, wonderful though they be. If you need more practice, take it. If you need to remind yourself that in 100 years it won't make any difference whatsoever, do it. A colleague of mine would always remind me when I got nervous: "No matter how well or how badly you do in this next hour, there are still 1 whole billion Chinese who really couldn't care less." I've been with a performing ministry for over 20 years now and need to remind myself that if I have practiced and done my best, the results really and truly are in God's hands and I should not try to take them back from Him.
I'm incredibly shy, and God called me to a theatre ministry. Who can understand the ways of the Lord?

Talk with some of the church members and tell them how you feel. When you know that there's someone out there supporting you, you'll feel alot more confident, and a little less scared. Breath deep and just focus on your song.

Just remember, the vast majority of the people sitting in that church cannot play the piano and you can. Enjoy your talent and know that a lot of people are envious of you!

Put a bag over your head so you can't see the congregation...or make them wear the bags. Alternative is to try not to look at the people and focus on something else. Breathe in through your nose and out, slowly, from your mouth. Good luck

Think about how much God is enjoying the music, and how proud He is of you for learning to play. No one else matters, and He is an easy audience. Relax and revel in his glory.

i've given many speeches, debates, etc. in front of large groups. The only time I feel comfortable is when I have practiced to the point I know I won't mess up.
