I don't mind destroying the tapes.

If you aren't going for scary, you can dress up as a VCR. If you want a good laugh (and are willing to destroy the tapes), wrapping yourself like a mummy would work really well, especially if you leave the tapes hanging off of you. That would be a good laugh :)

Get a big cardboard box, spray paint it silver, and then draw the front of a VCR on it. Cut a hole in the top for your head, and walk around all night with a VCR tape stuck in your mouth.
That, or else the high tech mummy that someone else suggested, complete with dangling VCR tapes. I got a good chuckle out of that idea -- kudos to the person who thought of it!

This is a little out there, and I am not really sure everyone will get it. But, here goes....pull the tape from the video tape. wrap it around yourself in all kinds of crazy twisted ways.....do one side of your hair fixed nice, do one side of your makeup but only wear foundation or no makeup on the other side. .....Hang a sign around your neck with red letters that says "Caution, editing in progress" or something along those lines....

You can be a vcr that eats tapes (as they used to do all the time). Dress in black. Not sure how you would affix the tapes to your outfit. And pull out the tape and wrap it around you, attaching it somehow.
