What is the best bargain that you have ever got?

I bought a house with 6 acres of land just 30 minutes away from town for $20 000. It came with all sorts of stuff: 2 little barns with all the necessities for raising chickens, 2 big gardens with a tiller and all the gardening tools imaginable, a cement mixer, a greenhouse, a stone fireplace outside, a basement with a workroom fully stocked in tools, several antiques and a lighthouse outdoor light at the end of the driveway that I could turn on from inside the house.

A few months before that I though I had gotten the greatest bargain on a motorcycle....ten years old but stored for the past two years, low mileage, 500cc Honda Shadow, ran great and for only $500.

I no longer have either.

Right down my alley here! I am a big thrift store shopper. I found 2 antique beautiful chairs at goodwill for 3:00 each. A dealer said he had only seen a few and they sold for upward of a hundred dollars each. A 1978 Mercedes for 750.00, The coolest thing I found was an accident, I bought an old textbook from 1939 and inside was a newspaper! That was so exciting! There was also a postcard to the owner of the book from his mother asking him if he needed P.J.s sent to him. The saddest thing was a WW2 8x 10 photo of a soldier and some of his books with a death notice, why anyone would give that up I don't know. Sad

I got a brand new (tags on) $500 cashmere sweater for $40 at a consignment shop.

As for best free thing, I got tickets to see Ben Folds and the Violent Femmes and a free beer from a radio station I NEVER listen to!

I bought some tool bags that are very handy for $2.88 at steve's wholesale, a tool place. I was looking for the plain white ones that I like better than the fancy ones they had at work; they collapse on themselves and make it harder to find tools that are at the bottom of the bag. Heavy, too. But these are Rubbermaid, blue ones, and the bag is not that tall, yet carries a lot of stuff.

A hundred years of service to gain my soul back from the Devil. I'm on day one so far. It could've been eternity.

Hehehe . . . I paid almost $8 for a shirt that was originally $31 and not on sale.

One time I got 50 gallons of paint discounted to me for a side job because my boss continuously bought for so long there. It was ten bucks off every five gallons so pretty significant!
