Well, I'm 13 and my "firends" are into drinking. I've been taught very well from a young age to resist temptations/peer pressure. My two best friends moved away two years ago, so I don't really fit it with the small town group that well. Even some of the mature ones are doing it. I've had convos on MSN with a girl in my class, and it seems they think all of the boys who drink are very 'cool', and I'm just sort of "there". I've always treated them as my best friends, and THIS is what I get in return? I've been saying "no" without hesitation constantly, but is it really worth it? What do you guys think?

look, honestly, i've been going throught the same thing since i was about your age... and i can say i have NEVER DRANK ANYTHING... sure, it was hard, and still is... but you have to stay true to yourself..

the reason they make the drinking age 21 is that your brain is not yet developed... and you could risk messing up yourself by drinking...

also, it sounds like you are thinking about giving into the temptation... but go to an adult... and express that you have never drank anything, but 'everyone' eles is doing it... more than likely they will give you a full story of how you should never start...

listen, do you really wanna be one of those poor homeless ppl on the streets?

stay true to yourself boy!!! when you get to an appropriate age, then start thinking about it... but you are only 13... you should be worrying about your g/f or school.... more importantly YOUR FUTURE...

sure it probably won't get easier for awhile, b/c they are testing you and trying you to see when you will cave in and give into drinking... but dont' do that, b/c you are just proving that they are winning...

in some time... they will see that you are honestly not giving into temptation... and trust me.... some good friends will come along and see your efforts and praise you for this...

My daughter is 14 and heres my storey. I have alway tried to teach her right from wrong and lead her down the right path. She went out one friday night I thought to a friends house to watch a movie. Everything was fine until I got a phone call at 10:30 that night saying she was brought to the emergency room . I rushed up there not knowing what to expect and was I ever in for a shock that will haunt me I'm sure for the rest of my life! There she was laying on a stretcher Un-contious but her eyes still open with alcohol poison!! She was so intoxicated that she completely shut sown!! I collasped from complete shock and I was so scared for her .She drank a quart of wine in about 30 minutes not knowing the effect it would have on her small body. After about 7 hours I took her home or I should say dragged her and put her to bed still out of her mind drunk!! She had no idea what was going on the whole time. The next morning she woke an went straight to the phone. She called her FRIEND and I heard her say "How did I get home?" Well she had no memorie of anything after drinking the wine and still don't. But thinking of what could of happened in that sutuation drove her crazy for a long time.At your age you are not ready to start drinking no matter what anyone says you just arent So many different horrible things could of happened to her at this party and she would of never ever knew or could do nothing to stop, she was completly helpless!..Don't drink because it is not worth the risk, and its addictive and its not safe because of so many reason...

These kids are not your friends. A real friend would agree with you.

Its hard being 13 and feeling left out. BUT I promise you if you hold your ground and keep saying no they make take the micky out of you but secretly they will really respect you.

Ask yourself this who is the stronger person one who goes along with all the others knowing its wrong or one who refuses to FOLLOW everyone else??????

Stay strong girl be proud of your self good luck xxxxxx

Pick up some useful hobbies like athletics or music to fill the time. Drinking only leads to a life of anguish.

Stay true to yourself. You are so young, enjoy your teenage years. It is worth it if you stay true to yourself and what you have been taught. In the end, you'll be thankful that you didn't. Keep focused on your schooling and focus on that. Remember, what people think say or do righ tnow does not matter in the future!

Stay true to yourself!!!!

You need to find a different group of kids to hang out with. If you continue to hang out with these "friends" you're going to get into trouble, even if you haven't been drinking.

People who try and pressure you are NOT your friends. Stick with your values. Don't worry, being 13 won't last forever and then life will get a bit eaiser.
