The first time I realized I was into the same sex was about age 16 when I stayed the night at my best friend’s house. At that time, we both felt the same way about each other and decided to see what it was like. It was a great experience for the both of us, and we really felt great about it amongst ourselves. When it came to our peers, it was not accepted very well, so we kept it to ourselves for the remainder of high school. She came out sooner then I did, I believe a year or so after graduation. I kept my feelings to myself for a few yrs before I confessed it to the man I was with. Although I felt relieved, I felt bad for him.
2) You look for the same quality in same sex partners as you would with opposite sex partners. Looks, personality, chemistry, all of which plays a part in both the homo and hetero communities
3) I look for compatibility mostly. Someone who enjoys the same things I do, and also someone who is also a good friend.
4) Its hard to say how society would react to anything. Although a lot more people have come out now days, then back when I was in high school, I see that society has not really changed a whole lot. There are still those who are against it, and will not change their minds.
5) People are against same sex marriages because it goes against what is stated in the bible. It is written that a man and woman are to be joined together in marriage and homosexuality is a sin. One good point to remember however is this is a book that has been written a very long time ago, and revised over and over again. It also states in the bible that we are all Gods children and he will love us not matter what, for he is the one who gave us free will, and the ability to think for ourselves. When it is my time to go, and I stand before God, I will tell him that I am of his creation, same as everyone else, and I am proud to be a part of him.
6) I would tell them that in today’s world, people are who they are, and should be accepted for such. It is no ones place to pass judgment on another person and to do so is wrong. What are they going to say when they stand before God, and he asks why they felt they needed to pass judgment on others, for it is his job to do so, not ours. A lot of people think its confusion why people turn to the same sex, but it is not. there are a lot of different reasons, and no ones story is the same, but we all are Gods children and should be able to live our lives the way he intended with the gifts he gave us. We are all the same inside and the sooner people realize that, the better this world would become.
