It is going to be difficult to find a job in sociology if you have only a bachelor's degree, let alone find one willing to pay off your student loans.

I would suggest that you go to your college's placement office and see if they have any ideas. In addition, if you have specific places in mind where you would like to work, you can call them and ask.

You mean AFTER you've gone to college, then get a job where your employer will pay off your loans AND pay your salary? I've never heard of such a thing and I can't imagine it, and I've been around a lot. YOU pay off your loans out of your salary.

Your first respondent, Bear Naked, is wrong. If you join the military just out of high school and are honorably discharged, you will have accumulated some considerable help towards paying for college courses taken AFTER military service, not before.

Going to college first MAY get you admission to Officer Candidate School, which, if you graduate from it, will make you an officer, not just an enlisted man. Officers make more money. But that old college loan is still your problem.

It used to be that OCS wanted something more relevant and difficult than Sociology. The Navy, for example, was only interested if you had a degree in Electrical Engineering. But I know that has changed somewhat; a Sociology degree might get you considered for OCS.

Some student loans can be waived if you teach in school districts that have hard times attracting teachers. Ask at the financial aid office of your school for details.
