Places that you can't smoke:

1) Taxi Stands

4) Schools
5) Hospitals
6) Hawker Centres (Non-smoking zones)
7) Pubs and Clubs (since 2007)

You can smoke anywhere, as long as there's no 'no-smoking' signs. In general, air-conditioned & confined spaces are no smoking areas - shopping malls, offices, subway, public transport etc. Think it's now extended to 'public places' too - bus stops, taxi queues.

here's what you do, before u smoke, ask the people around u or the traffic enforcers if u can light a cig - just to be safe.

dont throw the butt, and dont chew gum after. for some reason, it's illegal to chew gum in singapore.

You cannot smoke in public in Singapore because it is illegal. In your own hotel room, certain bars or other places where it is advertised to be ok would be acceptable.
