big deal

2006-10-21 13:11:45 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

G'day Lisa h,

Thank you for your question.

It is a big deal because he is arguably the greatest Formula 1 driver ever. He has won more events and Drivers Championships than anyone else. and holds just about every record there is in Formula 1. To put things in perspective, if he wins in Brazil, he will have 92 wins which is equal to the record of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost combined. It will take a very good driver to beat it.

Bernie Ecclestone thinks that Schumacher will be back and it is often the case that champions decide to make a return. He will be playing a role at Ferrari next season.

Michael Schumacher is like Michael Jordan, Pele and Donald Bradman - a legendary figure in his sport.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Regards

schmui may have gone this weekend but he will not be forgotten. I am not one of his fans I think that he has used some very underhanded and unsportsman like tactics to win over the last few years and this years Monaco escapade was just one to many.

He was a very competitive driver and has left a benchmark for other drivers to follow and either live up to or try and beat. He might be the making of some good driver of the future because of this.

It doesn't seem like a big deal now and it probably isn't, but I think that we will all see the differnce next season without bad boy schumi to boo, and the drivers without him to beat.

It is a shame that such a career full of outstanding achievements like his will be forever overshadowed by the unsporting antics and dirty tactics that he used to win.
The name Michael Schummacer will always conjure images of a great driver who won by playing dirty.

Massa or Ralf Schumacher to take out Alonso and Michael Schumacher to win the race and therefore the championship.... how funny would what be.
Seriouslly though big deal. He is one of the greats. The statistics speak for themselves. Maybe Alonso or another young driver will step up to the plate and follow in his footsteps. The sport will miss him.

It will be a very interesting race and ' nerve wracking' for the principal drivers in Brazil. Lets hope it is a straight honest race and whoever wins, does so fairly. F1 will greatly benefit in all manner of ways and popularity with this race of the season going down to the wire.
Sincerely, may the best man win and similar thoughts in respect of the constructors trophy.

we have a new era, its going to be like the 70s again - there are at least 3 or 4 greats all around at the same time

the racing is going to be realy intense because alonso and raikkonen are both in top teams and others may come thru like button, barrichello, massa all reaching their peak and progressing at the same time

in the schumacher era good drivers have been held back and michael has always had full support of the team, im not saying i wouldnt do that if i was in his position (being possibly the most skilled out there) but it has meant that things have got a bit slow at times

we havent seen a fair race in many circumstances, and schumacher has always had advantages over his team mates so we have never seen him go one on one with anyone

going forward its going to be very exciting

such a big deal. schumacher is the daddy. yes senna is an absolute legend but that is no reflection on schumis achievements. i just wish that somebody somewhere could tell me why and whos decision is it that the daddy of f1 is retiring?

i do understand that in sports associated professions people like to go out when they are on top of their field, but schumacher has a lifetime of racing left in him and i think it is very cruel on his extended fan base that he should pull the plug this soon.

i know that eventually all good things must come to an end but it is just to early.

hail hail schumacher.

No deal ....The man was a cheat and due to his actions and how he had Ecclestone round his finger he made F1 into a boring sport ....
The sad thing he didnt need to resort to these tactics as he had a vast amount of talent

It will be poetic justice if Alonso just takes him out of the race...Its the ending he deserves

Mis-Deal

He certainly galvanised reaction....

Statistically he is the best F1 driver ever. However, statistics don't write the whole story, individuals do that!

Although an immense talent, SchMACKER lost my vote when he started using what are now strangely referred to as "professional fouls", aka cheating.

He has continued to cheat throughout his career when he's under pressure. He even had the audacity to call his ramming another opponent a "natural instinct".

So therefore, MISDEAL. Talent recognised. Talent undermined by your own actions, Herr SchMACKER...
