Funny how he worded that, huh? He didn't say the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT demonstrated stupidity and arrogance, did he? The frigging Bush administration can't even take responsibility when someone admits they screwed up.

Invading Iraq was a ploy for Israeli security. We should have attacked the nation most hostile to the United States. That is, Mexico. Mexico is the only nation that hopes to actually invade the US and take back the land that it lost over 150 years ago. The US needs to start looking after themselves and forget about Israel and Africa.

I'm amazed at how many idiots responding to this question are dismissing it because it was "reported by Al Jazeera".
Sorry, Republican morons. It wasn't "reported" by Al Jazeera. The interview was SHOWN on Al Jazeera. For everyone to see. A senior administration official admitted Bush's policies were arrogant and stupid. The fact that you are attempting to deny that this actually happened would seem to indicate that you are arrogant and stupid as well....

Well yes there is strong evidence to support this assertion, regardless of source (PS I did not read the linked article, because I want to answer objectively) ;
Arrogance: BUSH flying in jet onto destroyer declaring victory in flaming photo-op; everytime Rumsfield opens his mouth, he spews arrogance, failing to listen to top advisers; resorting to lying to get us into war; Warfare in the name of christianity with its sanctimonious tacit implications. etc.....
STUPIDITY; Failure by BUSH to do his own homework and ignoring the fact that the IRAQI's are culturally and religiously different to texan cowboys and the like; If I knew the war would open an hornet's nests of terrorists, it must have been pure stupidity for the leaders whom I depend on not to know; I could go on for a month of church-going Sundays....

As reported by Al Jazeera. There's a reliable source for no spin. It's not the US' place to negotiate in Iraq, It's the Iraqi governments. They negotiation with Al Sadr in Najaf and it's costing them much now.
