You said "Liquids" There are many different liquids to choose from. Water weighs one pound for every pint, but Motor oil only weighs 6 pounds per gallon.
That is why oil floats on water, it is lighter.

One gallon of water weighs 8 pounds. (1 fluid ounce weighs 1 ounce; 128 fluid ounces to the gallon; 16 ounces to the pound.)
Other liquids may be more or less dense, though.

The phrase to remember is "A pint is a pound the world around". Since a gallon is eight pints it weighs eight pounds (assuming you are talking water as the liquid).

Depends very much on the liquid. Water weighs about 8.3 #/gal. Galoline is less, I think less than 7. Some like carbon tetrachloride weigh a lot more. about 12-13 as I recall.
