Many American children go without adoption and grow up in foster homes while these movie star's adopt children from all over the world. Doesn't make sense to me.

I think that anyone with a big heart who sees(in person) the suffering children go through in third-world countries would want to do the same thing and sweep one away, too, if they had the money. I say good for them. I know if I visited in one of those horrible orphanages in Russia(or somewhere else) that starve and neglect the children I would probably try to stick one under my jacket an walk out with it.

My brother in law adopted a China girl only after he was refused to adopt a America baby, he's married, works, good paying job and could support the baby well with a love home. When a couple wants a baby, why not go overseas?

i think that some of them may be trying to take the high road. im sure that they do genuinly want to help a less fortunate child, but when they adopt one from a foreign county, there may also be an alternate motive. I think it puts them in a better light in front of the public, making them appear less egotistical, materialistic, and self absorbed (which is sort of the stereotype we associate with celebrities), and more philanthropic. plus its more likely to make headlines. Hollywood is all about fads.

the kids in foster homes are a lot better off than the kids in the foreign countries, the kids in the foster homes have food shelter, medicine etc.
but the kids in the foreign countries have nothing

I am actually pissed about it..you got people like madonna using some african kid for publicity..for one, there are kids dying there every day and she is just trying to gain shine...second, the boy's father is an idiot for even letting her do that..I trully don't think these people even care about the kids at all

I agree with you on that. It's nice that they want to adopt children, however you would think they would want to help children in their own country.
