ever since i was teen, i've always gotten swollen glands. now in my 20's the gland inside left side of neck keeps getting sore and causing mild headaches. if i press mid way down my neck with 2 fingers i can feel a sore 'spot.' the spot is also sore when i turn my head left or right. my doc keeps giving me meds (like antibiotic), and the pain goes away then comes back months later and repeat.....last time she said it was a gland pressing against my tonsil or something like that.

what is causing this?

how can I get rid of it?

why does the soreness in gland or tonsil go away for a few months then return and repeating?

is the pain from a gland or a tonsil in neck?

I had this until my doctor prescribed Flonase and the glandular problem went away. I constantly had this problem and thought I had some horrible disease. Actually what I had was post-nasal drip and sinus infections that kept infecting my glands. Once I got rid of the sinus problems, the problem with my glands went away.

Strep throat isn't constantly adopted by means of a fever and a rash. It may be very difficult to diagnose such indistinct signs. You would be coming down with the flu, strep throat, or tonsillitis. All of those infections make it difficult to swallow, might intent a sore throat and white patches at the tonsils. No subject what you will have to make an appointment together with your doctoe, quandary swallowing is an overly extreme symptom, that might need scientific concentration. For your swollwn lymph nodes and discomfort to your neck you'll check out hot compresses. Anti-imflammatories akin to motrin, aleve, advil might support scale back the swelling. Do no longer take when you have any allergic reactions to ibuprofen. You might want an antibiotic to regard this contamination. I fairly wish this is helping :)

Are you an asthmatic, or a mouth breather? Are your gums puffy? My guess is that your immune system is attacking something being filtered by your lymphatic system. If you have allergy problems, asthma, chronic sinusitis, or post nasal drip, this would make your condition worse.

Try gargling with warm salt water to clean out your throat. Once you've had this next course of antibiotics, I would see another doctor for a second opinion. But, unless there is excellent reason, do not let them remove your tonsils. They filter out microbes and help prevent illness.

Tonsils cause many infections, inclding glands like you mentioned. It is always advisable to have them out. They cause so much trouble. However at your age it won't be an easy operation. Not a walk in the park.

It would have to be examined to be properly diagnosed. Try going to a different doctor for a second opinion.
