There are 28 tablets in a strip, are the tablets all the same or are the last seven placebos?(sugar tablets).

What Im getting at is with the regular pill you only take it for 21 days then a seven day break, whereas with this pill it is continuous.

The tablets are all active, there are no placebos. That is because it is progesterone-only, whereas with the combined pill it is the oestrogen component that gives you a withdrawal bleed.

With progesterone-only pills (POP) there is a higher incidence of irregular bleeding and heavy bleeding than there is with the combined pill, but cerazette is a new brand which has a lower incidence of these problems than the other POP's on the market. In fact up to 50% of women taking cerazette find that their periods stop altogether after a year of being on it. This varies woman-to-woman though. If you have erratic bleeding to begin with, try to persevere with it as this may well settle down within a few months. If you do have troublesome bleeding, see your GP to discuss alternatives.

Remember if you forget to take a pill, you must take it within 12 hours of your usual daily time, or else you will need to use extra precautions for 48 hours. (That would be 1 week, in the case of the combined pill).

Hope that helps :-)

They are all active pills. The reason you don't take a seven day break is because you only do that with a combined oral contraceptive (i.e. oestrogen plus progesterone). Cerazette is a POP (progesterone only pill).

with this pill you won't bleed..... bl**dy fantastic! all the piulls are active, Progesterone only.... you should have been given a leaflet to read, explaining this. another difference from when i used to take the Oestrogen pills, is you are protected within 48hours, not 14 days.

My gf takes these. All the pills are the same. you may bleed for a few days after taking them for the first month but this will clear. You then take them continuously and it's bye bye period.

They're all proper tablets no placebos. Read the patient information leaflet.
