my question is have two formulas p=2a+2b and A=1/2h(b+b') and in the p=2a+2b one i need to solve for b instead of p and in the A=1/2h(b+b') i need to solve for h instead of A....can anyone give me the formulas for these two?????????????????????????????

p=2a+2b

to solve for b:

2b=p-2a
b= (p-2a)/2

AND as for the other one...

A=1/2h(b+b')

to solve for h:
h(b+b')=2A
h=(2A)/(b+b')

for p=2a=2b, the formula is b=(p-2a)/2 and for A=1/2h(b+b'), the formula is h=2a/(b+b)

1) p =2a + 2b
transposing terms
p - 2a =2b
b = (p - 2a)/2

2) A = 1/2h(b + b')
h = 2A/(b + b') assuming te term h(b + b') is in the numerator

well actually there is no real formula to do this ques. All you hav 2 do is to try and get the b and h by themselves in each equation by either adding,dividing,multiplyin or subtractin the #. in the 1st ques. p=2a+2b, to get b by itself on one side u hav 2 divide by 2a on both sides givin u an eqn of p-2a=2b. then to get b by itself u hav 2 divide both sides by 2b, givin u p-2a/2=b. in the 2nd eqn A=1/2h(b+b') to get h, multiply both sides by 2 givin u 2=h(b+b"). then divide both sides bywats in the bracket, givin u 2/(b+b')=h. thats it u just hav 2 figure it out.

p=2a+2b
divide both sides of the equation by 2 and you get
p/2 = a + b
subtract a from both sides and you get p/2 – a = b

A=1/2h(b+b')
Multiply both sides by 2
2A = h(b+ b')
Divide both sides by (b + b')
2A / (b + b') = h
