Good Question! I'll do my best here. I think a common misconception is that only are soul's are going to heaven but that's not exactly the case. Our bodies - as they are won't be going to heaven, but there will be an actual resurrection of bodies and they will be restored in their perfect form. From my studies of Christian literature I can tell you that the first Christians believed that part of the soul's job is that it 'runs' a body - it's a gift that God gave our souls to enjoy, the beauty of matter. However due to the fall our bodies are not what they used to be. Hope it helps!

you must be referring to the Rapture and although I do not think that particular world is found in the bible the term is used to describe how before the tribulation begins (found In Revelation) true believers are taken up into heaven and God spares them from the horrors that will befall the world.Jesus Christ after He arose from the dead and spent some time still with the apostles ascended into Heaven Elijah is taken up into the heaven and he his body did not rot but is transformed. The spiritual body which also angels have has form, shape for how else could Lucifer be referred to as the most beautiful angel if there was no form. The soul , its charateristics and what exactly defines it is not told in the bible and we being created in the image of God-must be the spritual body and that is not described in detail either. But it is not just the soul which I believe is all we are-energy but the soul joins the spiritual body.Since heaven is a different type of abode than earth and the bodies we have here are of no use in heaven bodies of Elijah was transformed. I can't explain it in great detail for there are still some things that elude me but I hope I helped you some in understanding

Good question, logical and to the point. Every religious person I have ever asked has never given a plain answer to this simple question. I've either gotten an answer straight from their holy writings, or some nebulous pie in the sky answer that made no real sense at all. If it is at all true, then the soul may have some sort of ethereal body, or some literal means of identification. This is not the official explanation, just my own musings.

No, the flesh of us stay here with the World because it is a part of the World...It is made of sin. So...when Jesus comes back>Our souls will go to heaven...and God will give us new heavenly bodies. In the end>>the answer of your question is that our bodies wont vanish..they'll just drop.

This isn't really a philosophical question. It is a religious question and as such belongs in the religious category. However, it poses several assumptions that I will answer. The focus is way too narrow. Christianity does not hold the corner on faith. The book of Revelations is in no way a certainty. Further, I would like to point out that a conversation fits the description you gave of a soul.
If you would rather see answers more on point, I recommend that you pose the question in the Religion category.

Because that is what our Lord chooses to do. But the more important question is, do you have your ticket? You know so may people will tell you how superstitious Christians are and they make it all sound like a lot of mumbo jumbo. But I can tell you that the Lord put His evidence in my heart. It's like a love letter that I can see all the time. I look at this world with all its charms and sadness and I know where I am in the big scheme of things. I was bought for a price. And that price was His blood. And now I am His. And I am cherished and loved and never alone. Even after receiving Christ as my savior a lot of bad things happened and I didn't always understand why, but I'm never alone and I am loved and cherished. And so are you, you just don't know it.

Because we live in a 'finite' world. Every single thing you can think of in our world has a definite beginning and an inevitable end. From bacteria, to human and animal bodies, to robotics and electronics, to civilisations (like the rise and fall of the roman empire), to galactic events.
So my friend, if god wants you to live eternally in heaven, you wouldn't want to live forever with a 'finite' body that will rot with time.

your question is confusing. you kinda answer it yourself with your quote...God will take the true believers....their body will vanish....ashes to ashes and dust to dust...He takes the true believers spirits and the bodies vanish as He does. no mystery.

I can't accept ANY of your premises. Perhaps that's why there is NO ANSWER to your question.
