One answerer ran a parallel between the KKK and the NAACP. They also compared the KKK with the UNCF. THen the KKK with BET. Huh?? There has been many stretches that I have seen here. Lets look at what these stand for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The United ***** College Fund, and Black Entertainment Television. I think that people need to stop looking for something where there is nothing. I am sure that I am going to get some hateful and racist feedback. If you think that these are one in the same, let me know. How do they compare?

I knew that there would be answers that spoke about associations that catered to one group. These groups were created when they were needed the most. BET was created when it was noted that all black actors were either depicted as drug dealers, prostitutes, dirt poor, or welfare cases. The NAACP came about during the civil rights movement. THe UNCF (which is the hardest scholarship ever. could not get it with a 3.9 GPA) came about when students that were academically gifted could not get the funding to go to school. Most people cannot get the scholarship. The truth is that white america has a plus still. These organizations are necessary. If you do not believe that, go with me shopping or buying a car. Go with me on job searches. Look at TVand see how many minorities are depictied in a positive way.

I have no idea where someone ran a parallel between the two, but I do know that the KKK would be the number one antagonistic force to the NAACP, so the person that thought this could have been lodged deep in the conspiracy theory mind set and thought that somehow the NAACP paid off the KKK to raise racial crimes so they could get more money. But the NAACP, I hope, would have more character than that.

Each of the organizations is dedicated to the promotion of one race. I would equate KKK with Black Panthers though, because each has a militant aspect to it. It does seem racist when there can be a BET but not a WET(that would be racist). A NAACP but not a NAAWP(that would be racist) A UNCF but not a UWCF(that would be racist). An Ebony magazine but not a Ivory magazine(that would be racist).
to me, It's all stupid, and I can't believe that we humans are so concerned with such trivial matters while around the globe, evil people are killing our brothers and sisters, starving our children.

I can't believe this is the first time an answer has shocked you. When I read the questions and answers (especially in the politics category and even more so in the immigration category) I am sometimes embarrassed to be a human. All of the racist and intolerant and ignorant comments often shock me. I can only hope that the people who post thoughts on this forum are not representative of the actual population. god help us if they are!

Not that I subscribe to any of this, or agree with it but can you imagine the outrage if there were organizations like:
the National Association for the Advancement of White People.
The United Caucasian College Fund
or
White Entertainment Television.
I am not a racist and I think that there's no place for ANY OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS THAT DIVIDE US. HOW ABOUT WE REPLACE THE WORDS WHITE, BLACK, CAUCASIAN AND ***** WITH AMERICAN??? CAN WE DO THIS

I don't think so, During the time of their foundation in the 60's this was the protection and education of the black people and people of mixed colour.
In the 60's and 70's it was tooo dangerous to go to the public school system, I hope one day that all of humanity can intricate for the sake of humanity.

KKK caters to the whites.
The rest caters to the Blacks.
On that note, Asian Student Association can be related to the KKK, since they all cater to one race.

THIS IS A HARD QUESTION TO ANSWER WITHOUT OFFENDING SOMEONE OF COLOR OR RACE AND BY ANSWERING THIS IT IS NOT MY INTENT! I SEE THE RACE CARD USED ON BOTH SIDES WAY TO OFTEN!
