Do you think cheerleading is just a waste of sport space?

Ok I am a cheerleader for the freshman football team, and some of our color gaurd think that cheerleaders just take up space, and we don't really do much for our school, I think we do a lot, we get people more involved in school spirit by having pep rallys, encouage people to try out for sports and keep people involved in the game.... and more.....what should i do? what do you think?

Cheerleaders are very important to the school. However, some cheerleaders actually cause people to NOT want to be involved with the school and/or school sports because of their attitudes. Do not take this the wrong way I am a CHEER enthusiast, and a former cheerleader, and if this does NOT apply to you or any of your squad members than just ignore the color guard members, they are just rude.

Cheerleaders, umm... I don't know. I don't consider cheerleading a sport, kind of like dance and bowling. Golf barely makes it to the sport category. The thing is, the cheerleaders are involved in physical activity, but they kind of don't compete against anyone or anything. You don't see people cheering on cheerleaders, so that either means they don't care about cheerleaders, or they are occupied with the game at hand. The only time it can be considered a sport is if you compete your cheer with another school, in some kind of cheer competition...

it is quite a interest!!!! I did it for 9 years and it replaced into so frustrating! I do agree that aggressive cheerleading is a interest, no longer lots cheering on the sidelines.. it is an exceptionally risky interest as properly. I have been given harm a minimum of as quickly as a week. the unhappy factor is the way cheerleading is considered. I even have heard that each physique cheerleaders do is bounce up and down and act dumb.(I proved this man or woman incorrect!) Its an exceptionally frustrating, aggressive, perplexing, stressful, and exciting. I in basic terms decide for to assert to cheerleaders accessible; the folk that don't call it a interest.. they have not performed it!!!!!

i think that cheerleaders are the most intersting part of a football game. Who can turn their back on beauty?? not me and most cheerleaders are just absoutley beautiful. if had a choice of watching the game or the cheerleaders i would choose the cheer;eaders every time. you just tell your color guard to stop being jealous of the crowd the cheerleaders attract and try to improve their performance.

Cheerleading is not what it used to be. Now you kids know gymnastics and employ them in your cheers or some of the cheerleaders I have seen at games have done this. I think it's great as a sport itself. Cheer on!

I don't see a point in them because no one pays attention to them. If I'm at a football game, the last thing that I'm paying attention to are the cheerleaders.

Buy a stun gun and stun the opposing teams star player before the next game. Then apply to the University of Miami and let us know you did that provide criminal reports please and we will set aside a scholarship for you when your ready to attend. If only our cheerleaders had beaten on the cheerleaders from FIU.

Ok enough of that! Keep cheering, keep wearing the tight outfits, and keep dancing around. But please stop trying to make sense out of the obvious before you ruin something already great. Cheerleaders only purpose in life is to be sexy and turn us on between god's greatest gift (Football). Now hush and pick up your pom poms.

Keep being a cheer leader at my school the cheer leaaders get the student section more involved with the game.
