You will likely be welcomed warmly. People here are often quite interested in British culture, and many people will be drawn to your wonderful accent, regardless of which variety it is. I don't think you'll have any problems.

Well, the stereotpye is that British guys are all either rich and sophisticated, or else alcoholic criminals (think Guy Ritchie films.)
However, most people are clever enough that once they get to know you even a little neither will be applied to you. You'll just be The Guy from England, and otherwise blend in like everyone else.

I'm originally from Scotland and the Americans are great (I'm now one myself). Even after many year here people still make me think there is something special about an accent. I don't think I have one anymore but I guess I do.

Depends on what part of the country you're moving to.
East coast girls have attitudes and are generally not as attractive and very materialistic.
Southern girls are quite charming and nice, but they are very set in their customs and traditions.
Midwest girls are generally unassuming and unsophisticated, but still pretty nice on the whole.
West coast girls are very shallow and image conscious and blatantly materialistic (east coast girls go to great lengths to hide their materialism, at least initially).

Well, this is a far more important thing you need to learn chappy but their Tea is godforsaken, and neither men or woman know how to make a good cup of tea. THEY USE TEABAGS!!! And they call it a cup of tea. That doesn't answer your question so much, but you should know. :cD

I heard most American girls think that English guys are a bit feminine and act girlie. So my Brit friend "Butch" it up if you want to date our gals. Otherwise you will only attract "Gay Hags".
