does the router that the company supplied have wireless capabilities? If so then check that the wireless is turned on as aforementioned but also check in network connections to make sure that the wireless card is enabled. If it is enabled and on then right-click on the wireless connection and select show available wireless connections (or such) and see if it is seeing the wireless (or any wireless) signal. If all that doesn't work it may be a setting on the wireless configuration.
Hope all that helps. :)

It depends on what name laptop you have, Some even new ones have a small tab on the back near the wireless port that is the on/off switch. I found out that the hard way trying to connect and could not no matter what I tried. Does it see any wireless connections at all,,,,

Most laptops you can turn on/off the wireless to conserve batteries. Check and make sure it's turned on.

You need a pc card? i think. or a type of card that has an antenna sticking out.
