Here is a page with good instructions for cleaning your screen. http://tv.about.com/b/a/147518.htm?terms=clean+your+screen This guy says to use a 3M microfiber cloth, but any soft microfiber cloth is fine.

Vinegar /water is good; I sometimes use a VERY small amount of dish soap in cool water if there are stubborn marks. I've heard that paper towel can scratch, so I use an old t-shirt to dry the surface.

you are supposed to turn the monitor off and let it cool for a while. take an ice cube and put it in a towel and put over the ripple for 2 seconds and take it off immediately. wipe any moisture off. Now wait 10 more seconds before turining the monitor back on

Very carefully with a soft cloth. You should have special cleaning instructions that came with it. Don't try to deviate from those instructions.
