Whats probably the biggest and best scam you've seen used on the website www.neopets.com ???

Also, what other scams have been used that you know about?

Hello,

I used to play Neopets all the time. It can be a lot of fun & very addicting at times! I've also seen lots of scams there.

Be careful of some of the more common scams. If you see someone doing any of these, report them to Neopets.

Some of the biggest ones are:

1) "I have a duplicating code. Give me your rarest item & I will duplicate it 1,000 times." All that will happen is they will keep your item. Remember: If something sounds to good to be true, it is.

2) Sometimes they will create a link with a fake log-in page requesting your user name & password. It looks very real but it is not. This is their way of getting into your account where they will immediately change your password to something else.

3) Another one is like the pyramid scam. They say "I will tell you how to get rich on Neopets. All it will cost you is a codestone or a paintbrush or a dubloon." Then they want you to go scam others in that same fashion.

4) Another scam I have seen is people who try to set up trades with other people, then say that the trading post is not working so just give them whatever item it is they want, and they will give you the item you want or the neopoints. Then they keep your item & never give you anything in return.

5) I have also seen people who use dark backgrounds on their shops so others cannot see what prices are listed. Or they change the price after they advertise it as one amount, and if you are not careful you will either get a different, cheaper item or the item at a much larger cost to you.

6) If you ever see a message telling you to copy/paste a message and repeat it 20 times and a paintbrush or some other nice item will magically appear in your items, DON'T believe them! It does not work, & Neopets will freeze the accounts of people who spam like that.

As with any other site, never give anybody else your password.

I'm gonna tell you Top Five scammers and Top 3 scams.
Top of the scammers:
1)my_pw_is_*random word*-He always writes board about people ...he even writed one about me!Ugghh ,I hate him.
2)stuck_on_ballet-she ruins pound boards.
3)cookie_stealer or Cookiees_for_everybody ,also know as cooki_rooki- Same as the first one ,makes board about peoples.
4)emo_power or emos_make_rules-She always makes boards about emos.
5)Rookeh or Pwn_neo -He used to make fake login pages ,then scammed all the people who entered their information there.
Top 3 scams:
1) The biggest scam ever is this ,,Post Ly this message Thu 20 boards...approved by neopets'' .No ,is not a approved ,and NO it don't works ,it's just gets you frozen!(I had saw in someones account who was posting this a royal Lupe girl and a maraquan gelert .Some people are crazy!)
2)fake log in pages
3)Paintbrush giveaways.

Well..i play neopets and my username is pirate_fanatic..
i recently encountered one. i posted on boards for people to lend me a Faerie Queen Doll. Someone neomailed me and said that they had one. So i told them to set up a trade w/ their doll. the guy said that he would SEND me his doll ONLY IF i sent him 500k NP by offering on his trades. SUCH A SCAM. the boards always have spammers??! or is it scammers. that post so many posts that the whole thing doesn't work..:) good luck w/ neopets. neomail me if ya want.
