and we all do it to some degree.............
like to a new boss..we may hate this person and how they are..but we NEED or job so we smile...
like your brother or sisters new spouse..again because of your family..you pretend to like them.....
like your neighbors..even though you may not socialize with them..you wave and smile and say hi how are you..but really want to run them down with your car....
like that real real rich old person who just picked you up at the bar...you smile and smile all the way to the bank...

When you are a teenager or in your 20's it's not problem to just ignore and maybe they'll just go away, however it's been my experience that the older you get, the faker you must become. Chances are the person you hate the most will be the one you will continually be stuck with.

I have to work with some co-workers that I hate... but since I work with them, I have to be professional and let aside my hatred and be civilize. But outside of work, I wouldn't even bother to pretend to like them, I just ignore them and hope that I don't see them outside of work... I feel that if you pretend to like someone that you hate, you're being fake...

Getting along with someone has nothing to do with how you feel about them. If you have to work with someone, or are related to someone, it is better to just get along. It doesn't mean you have to be nice and pretend anything, it just means you are mature enough to see the big picture, especially if children are involved.

I would. Usually even if I don't like someone to begin with I can find something I like about them and I can get along with them. Or if not I just ignore them as much as I can and be nice when I have to talk to them.

If I hated the person I wouldn't talk to them or try to be their friend but I wont be mean to them because there is no reason to be a *** about something.

Really, I guess it just depends on what you getting out of it, What the circumstances are. I mean if its your boss, yeah pretend, If its for money, uh huh, you really should. if its for any other reason, You will have to weigh the pros and cons. Again.... For Money... YES!
