There should not be a national ban on smoking in public.

Most of the cities in the country are taking care of that anyway. There are very few places where I can now smoke in public.

I try to be a considerate smoker but if you try to legislate my ability to smoke in my own home you will have one heck of a fight on your hands.

I take it you mean a national law against smoking in public? I think it would be a great idea. In my opinion as a free person living in a democratic society, we have the right to clean fresh air. We contend with enough pollution on a day to day basis. I think there should be enclosed huts where all smokers go to smoke and litter their "butts" on the floor. Then they could smell there own nastiness. Smokers can stay at home as far as I am concerned. What a filthy addiction/habit.

Considering all the government control to protect our health, safety and welfare (like brain buckets for motorcycle riders and seat belts, etc.), a national law against smoking in public should definitely be passed and enforced. And the tobacco companies that used additives to quickly addict people should have to bear the cost of addiction clinics and respiratory problems.

You should be ticketed by the police if you're caught smoking a cigarette, just like you are when you're caught driving without a seatbelt! If you're forced to protect your safety when in a vehicle, you should certainly be protected from yourself if you choose to smoke! Have a good day!

no, not at all. Second Hand smoking really has almost no chance of killing anyone. I understand for asthma concerns, because I have asthma. But there is no reason to ban it in public places. Making sections in restruants is fine with me, because then it does not affect my asthma
