The say you should only increase your caloric intake by 300 calories a day, that is all the baby requires. You are still "slim" you are just carrying something inside you that makes you appear not to be. Don't worry about it so much, instead enjoy the pregnancy! If you haven't yet you should soon start feeling your little one moving and what a neat feeling it is! I also im 5 months out due Feb 6th

Congrats and Good Luck!

Staying slim is NOT your #1 problem . staying healthy is. It is very important that you keep the musceles in your abdoman very strong so that when it is time to deliver you will be strong . Walking is not an option. it is a requirement if you are going to stay healthy. If you work outside the home walk up and down the stairs don't us elevator or esculator. Park at back of parking lot at grocery and walk to door. If you work in a office go out for lunch but WALK to eating place and eat fruits and veg..If possable walk around your desk .sit up very straight in chair do not use back of chair but support your self with your muscles. Hold in your stomach muscles and stand up straight when walking or standing. There are all kinds of exercizes that you can do while sitting at desk. Swimming is also one of the best exercizes. Try to swim at least 30 min 3 times a week. Congratulations . Enjoy your pregnancy and have a healthy happy Baby

You can't stay slim when youre pregnant!! You will have to put on weight as the baby grows, if you still diet you run the risk of harming your baby!!! Eat sensibly, you will find that you will start getting tired easily now so dont overdo any exercise, you will lose the weight after you have the baby, relax, chill out and look forward to the birth. Stressing out over staying slim will cause you and your baby problems.

I am of average build also, my sons are 23 months and 7 months old, I gained 41 pounds with the first and 29 with the second. I tried not to eat tons of junk, but still gave in to a few cravings too. But walked 2 miles a day throughout both pregnancies, and I weigh 2 pounds less now than when I got pregnant with the first. You will gain no matter what, just try to walk and if possible, breastfeed, it helps both of you, trust me!

Your eating for 2, ur carrying extra weight so it's gotta show. Don't think off staying slim you should think for the baby, Whatever you eat the baby gets and if you don't eat or eat less the baby suffers. So like me when I was pregnant I didn't think of me I thought of my baby and just ate too my cravings. After I gave birth then I focused on me daily exercise and a good diet gave me my body back in no time. Who says being pregnant is a skinny thing anyways????

It's only natural to show at 5 months, and some women show more than others. The baby will add 5-10 lbs to your weigh, the amniotic fluid another pound or two, and your swollen uterus maybe another pound. Your breasts gain weight too as they swell with fluid in preparation for lactation. Add another pound for this. Weight gains of more than 20 lbs. can cause problems, such as temporary diabetes. There is always some kind of exercise people can do. 30 minutes every other day is better than nothing.

It's genetics. If you are naturally slim you will gain some weight but you will lose it pretty fast after the baby is born! Don't over exercise because that can be dangerous for your baby. Just eat healthy and don't give in to all the sugars and extra fats. Walking and swimming are great "pregnancy workouts."

You should gain at least 25/30 pounds, so don't worry about the weight. After the baby is a little older, you can work it off, especially if you are naturally slim to begin with.

You have time for whatever you make time for. As any time (pregnant or not) the answer to staying slim is eating balanced meals, not *overeating*, and do *some* form of exercise for 30 minutes, three times a week. Not only will you stay slim, you'll have much more energy.

My Mom and my sister told me to eat healthy and stay away from junk food as much as possible and walk. You should only gain 25-30lbs. Most of which you should lose when you have the baby. You might have a little to work off but it shouldn't be that much if at all unless you put on more than the 30lbs.
