The boro has been growing for the last 10 years or more. I went to Uni here and lived there post-uni off and on from 1991-1998. Lot of changes during that time.

Some info:

*It's about a 30 minute drive sans traffic to Nashville.

*There's a civil war battlefield site if you're in to that kind of thing.
*Toots has really good wings.

*The Boro is the geographical center of the state.

*Nathan Bedford Forrest once surprised Union forces at the courthouse and drove them out for a time

*MTSU has a number of accredited courses such Recording Idustry, Areospace, Criminal Justice, Etc...

WHY MURFREESBORO?

at night town shuts down earlier than nashville. if you want to relocate move to the west end or green hills area in nashville.

murfreesboro is more red-neckish than nashville. nashville has a big metropolis influence - thus more sophisticated. in addition its flooded by the students at MTSU who are all from the area so its not like you're being surrouded by people all over the country and their culture. there's not much else really there. in addition USATODAY did a report a few months back that said murfreesboro, tn has the fourth fastest growing hispanic population in the whole country. if you are hispanic this may be very appealing to you.

the town should have a web site. If not, look up the local news paper on-line. Most on line real estate sites have info and links available that tell you the crime rate, average income and median ages of the area you are interested in.
