Knowing friends in both areas, I'd have to go with the dentist. I do that mainly because they have fewer emergencies than a medical doctor; also, their hours are not as rigorous. However, one thing you should know: The suicide rate of dentists is quite high, and it surpasses the rate for doctors. It's believed that the rate is high because most people hate going to the dentist... and the dentist tends to believe that he or she is hated, thus leading to depression and suicide.

Dentists have the highest suicide rates of all professions. I don't know why.
My friend is a doctor. He has no life for being on call 24/7.

My dentist friends complain of "burnout" and stress. Also dentists, curiously, have a high suicide rate.
Young MD specialist practices earn $800,000 to $900,000 per year rather quickly out of college, if interested in money.

IF you want to start making money sooner, become Dentist. If you want to wait and make money later in your life, become Dr.
