It's like any state. It depends what part of the state you go to, and what you're into. I live in Northern Kentucky just south of Cincinnati and there's always something going on. You can find live music every weekend and there's nearly always some kind of festival in the area, great nightlife. Lexington and Louisville also have a lot going on most of the time.
Being a local, my initial answer would be absolutely not -- sure there's lots to do, but for me it's the same old stuff. I often wonder if people who live in Vegas get bored and complain there's never anything to do.
