my daughter was asked to create a poster depicting drug prevention and i am interested in knowing what to put on it without being very graphic

geez...2nd grade? they just barely know how to read and write in that grade...is drug use really a problem?

Have your daughter showing the benefits of saying
'no' to drugs. Show pictures of children running to
stay healthy, doing well in school, going to church if
you are faith-based, being happy and having fun
with friends. The slogan could read, " friends help
friends stay drug free." of "A drug free life is a happy
life". Hope this helps. By the way, I started talking to
my daughter about drugs when she was in 1st grade.
I just kept it simple and told her to never take medicine
unless mommy or daddy gave it to her.

It's never too early so rock on,You could try a local rehab for ideas,talk to the staff.It's gonna be hard to put it into simple terms.
you could use the answer from "way far out" it's a sound idea,you want to be able to get the message to their mush minds.My idea would be make a tree from the bottom up showing an individual that has two paths to follow...(a choice) one path shows happiness,a fruitful life etc.and what he should be...the other a path to hardship and consequence(jail,broken family,dead) and what the person couldve been,at least something like that,maybe?Hope this helps.

You can write "Sock it to Drugs", and decorate different socks, made out of construction paper, one sock colorful and bright and the matching sock with how to say no to drugs, ex: just say no, walk away, tell them you have other things to do, etc... Poster will
be grade level appropriate and colorful and get the message across.

I just had my 3rd graders make up a slogan and illustrate it
Proud to be drug free
Happy to be drug free
You and me can be drug free
Phrases like that
They illustrated things that they could do instead of drugs

2nd grade? what has the world come to! How old are you in 2nd grade like 8 or something? Jeez, show a picture like on the simpsons of the hippies trying to eat a baby sandwich because they are so stoned..God, what could you show that wouldn't make them cry...

Rather than focusing on negative aspects of drug use, focus on positive aspects of staying drug free.

2nd graders genrally dont know about drugs
unless they have teenage siblings and find them lying around
i'd go to like a parenting website or something
