probably has air in the line, you need to bleed it, check the reservoir :)

Oh dear there are a few really bad answers here.
I have this exact fault and what caused it is the seal at the clutch assembly end of the hydraulic clutch cable. If you look down below the back at the centre of the radiator, you'll see where the hydraulic cable enters the top of the clutch housing. Check the rubber gater for damage and the inner seal that is leaking intermittently. There is probably evidence of fluid leaking on the crossmember underneath the clutch housing.
Replace the seal and the gator, top up and bleed and job done, no need for a new clutch or master cylinder assembly with the cost and trauma that goes with it. Your local garage should be able to correct this for you for less than $100.

This could be several things. If you have a hydralic clutch, then you are low on fluid. worn pressure plate can do this also. worn clutch cable. Also you are near the end of the lifespan on the clutch, get it replaced before you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Clutches usually last between 5-10 years. It will cost about $250-$500 to get the clutch serviced and repaired. You can take it to a tranny shop for a servicing and they will let you know what the problem is. The cost here is about $70. Good luck.

Sounds like the plates are failing to grip properly. Air in the system should normally cause this to happen all the time, and the clutch cable would have to break in order to fail, so that leaves you with the plates or the actual housing at fault. In Europe you will have to replace the clutch assembly whatever, which costs about £70 to purchase and about £85 to have fitted unless you know how to yourself, if in America or Asia you may still be able to get a clutch plate, which costs about £20 and a similar cost to fit. I would get it done soon though as this could give you serious problems when you least expect them.

I'm not familiar with your exact model, but it sounds like you have a hydraulic clutch, easy way to tell is if there is a top up tank under the bonnet, next to the brake fluid reservoir.
Anyway, its probably the clutch master cylinder failing, they can leak internally-so you get no visible external leak, the fluid just rushes past the seals back into the reservoir. - a garage job I'm afraid unless you know anyone good with cars.
It's not really dangerous, just remember to put the car in neutral in traffic jams and if it does happen pump the pedal a few times. But you should get it fixed as soon as you can.

Sounds as though you have air in the clutch fluid system or you have a leak on it maybe it is the master cylinder need sreplacing or just a seal. Yo need to get it checked by a mrchanic before it results in an accident.
Alternatively it could be the thrust bearing on the clutch itself but I would have thought that would have been a more consistent problem.

you most probably have a hydraulic clutch as many hyundais do.There could be two reasons for your problem. Either the cluth needs bleeding because there is air in the system, or you need to top up the clutch fluid. You will find the bleed nipple for the clutch just underneath the front bumper.

Get thee to a mechanic quickly.
I believe this vehicle has a hydraulic clutch system. You are low on fluid, have air in the system or the one of the cylinders is in failure mode. Something should be done as quickly as possible. If it were mine, I would not drive it until I knew why the problem was occurring.
Good luck, and drive safe.

If you learned how to drive in that same car you might need a new clutch, because when new drivers learn how to drive manual it is usually pretty harsh on the clutch.
