I just found out a couple of days ago that I'm pregnant with my third child. I have had some cramping on and off a few days before the pregnancy was confirmed. Anyways, If I wasn't pregnant I would be on my period right now, Do you think that is why I'm cramping soo much?
I know this is my third child, but this is very different, I don't remeber this much cramping, this menstrual cramping shoots from one side for a while then my back then in the middle of my stomach. You would think I was on my period.

Let me add that i'm going back to my obgyn on monday to get my hcg blood levels checked again, it wasn't high enough to do an ultra sound. They guess that i'm between 4-6 wks pregnant.

the cramping is normal this early in pregnancy. I had this cramping with my son almost the entire pregnancy from before I even was supposed to get my period...It is just your bodys way of adjusting to all the changes. A lot of times women get cramping because they are slighlty dehydrated and need more fluids..ur pregnant now so u known that u need extra fluids for ur baby and the uterus..Dont worry about it, every pregnancy is different as my first i had no cramps or anything...Good Luck and enjoy your pregnancy...

Hi. I've had 3 children also and with my second and third what you are describing happened to me too. My OBGYN told me that it is common the first month or two to cramp or even have a small amount of blood at the time you would normally have a period. I would still call the doctor and take it as easy as possible for the next few days(no lifting or anything strenuous). Chances are it is nothing to worry about. Also, if your first two children were one sex then possibly this one is the other. My first was a girl and the last two were boys. ;0) Good Luck!

My experience with my 3rd baby was that the cramping was just another sign that I truely was pregnant. I knew I was pregnant very early on because all of the fun pregnancy aches and pains started a about 4 weeks. All of the ligament pains and sretching started a lot earlier then my previous pregnancies. I felt kicking a lot sooner and the baby's movements seemed a lot stronger. In fact, I was completely convinved I was having twins. The cramping did subside and the pregnancy went on to be relatively easy.
Good Luck.

Hi,
I am 6 weeks pregnant with our 3rd child and this one feels different also. The day after we concieved( was planned) I have been having pains near my left ovary and cramping also. I just figured it was the egg maybe traveling attatching, growing etc. I also have cramping at time and of course worry about loosing the baby but, worry is not good and what will happen will happen. I havent mentioned it to the dr because its really not been going on the last few days maybe because I am at 6 weeks. Best of luck to you and #3.

I am pregnant with my third child also. I think your increased cramping is due to this being your third child. I am 5 months and I had pretty severe cramps and all is well with me, in fact, I feel EVERYTHING this time around.

Please ask them to do an ultrasound as well. All the previous answers are correct. Cramping can be a part of a completely normal pregnancy. I don't want to get you worried unneccessarily, but it also can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy...especially if it is isolated to one side of your body. I didn't find out I was having an ectopic pregnancy until my tube burst and I was bleeding internally, pretty serious stuff. Please call your midwife or OB/GYN and ask them about it. It's better to rule these things out.
Best of luck.

It could just be the embryo implanting in the uterus..but to be on the safe side I would call your OB/GYN or go to the ER. Better to be safe than sorry. Also refer to babycenter.com...its a great site full of info for pregnant women.
Best of luck to you! I hope everything is ok!

All I can say it just try and relax. Don't jump the gun about anything. If it worries you so much that it's driving you crazy I would go to the ER. It will only make you feel better! Good Luck!
