I hate to be a killjoy, but since you don't know exactly how long it will take to do the work, I'd do it first. After that, you can party until it's time to turn it in.

Hi Chou, If this really is a question for you, I imagine you have chosen, and will most likely choose again to party and put off the more painful studies. As one who partied himself out of college and always regretted it, I would ask you simply "What are you going to school for?" And "how do you see an education being important to what you want to do in life" Not all rewarding jobs and careers require a degree. Some do. If you can accomplish what you really want to do in life without a degree then why not party. Often times a degree will lead to a higher income and a better standard of living. But some people give that up anyway to find a career--maybe serving others-- that doesn't require a degree, just lots of compassion. And then there's facing your parents and others who may or may not be supporting you financially but are trusting you to be studying and working toward your degree. I guess it all boils down to your basic day to day philosophy,Chou. Is it "I live for number 1, and that's me, and there is no pleasure I will deny myself--I make my own rules!"
Then my bet is you'll go to the parties. Prove me wrong.

what is more important to you? A future good paying job or one night of having fun? Being successful in life, or having a few drinks with friends for one night?

If you choose the party, look into the mirror and practice this phrase: "Would you like fries with that?"

On the other hand, if you are an A student who always does their work, attends school daily and works hard most of the time, go to the party!

Do your school work and you will have lots of time to party later on in life. If you get it right now then you can retire early and party all you want then.

How badly do you want to pass the class? Never mind, do the school work first. There will be more parties. Plus, there's very little chance of Date-Rape when doing homework.

Hopefully you know yourself and your abilities. If you can successfully procrastinate, go for the party. If not, it's work time.
