good question. i don't have an answer. if the "average joe" would have done the same thing he or she wouldn't be recognized by the press. Because it's Madonna and she's famous around the world, she's getting the spotlight on her for the adoption. But why should the general public care? I don't understand why either.

It's not the saving of a child from poverty that it getting up people's noses - nobody denies that's a good thing. It other issues like; how Madonna got to bypass the red tape that other couple have to agonizingly wait to wade through over years not weeks, how she adopted from Africa rather than Britain/America which is because she's too old amongst other reasons, if you go by the rule books in those countries, how she's adopted a child with one living parent who said he would love to keep his child but can't affored it and yet she's took him away instead of helping the father, is she doing it as the lastest trend or is it genuine?

I think Madonna will have thought about this seriously before she's done it because she's no airhead, so good luck to her and her new son from that point of view. But, I just hope that this doesn't open the flood gates for any old idiot celeb to go out buying the latest fashion accessory.

Why should we care? Because thousands of couples find it needs acres of forms and red tape to adopt a child they desperately want. Then along comes a very dubious celebrity who has millions of $$$ and she buys a baby without having to wait or fill out questionaires.
This is very wrong.
Also because it is possibly not in the interests of any child to be adopted by a world-famous celebrity. If you look at Michael Jackson's children, or even Bob Geldof's, they all have troubled lives and are not treated normally.
The most important factor is whether Madonna herself actually gives any of her time to the child, or whether she just needs to be thought of as a "saintly" do-gooder.
The only real charity work is the unpublicised variety, when no one but yourself knows you do it.
Sadly, this is not the case with Madonna.

Madonna probably doesn't care much about the paparazzi anymore after being chased around by them for 20 years. I think that anyone with a big heart who sees(in person) the suffering children go through in third-world countries would want to do the same thing and sweep one away, too, if they had the money. I say good for her. I know if I visited in one of those horrible orphanages in Russia(or somewhere else) that starve and neglect the children I would probably try to stick one under my jacket an walk out with it. I feel sad when people say she is wrong for saving that child.

Because there are so many children and babies who need homes and love and care right here in America. Yet Madonna who was born in Michigan is now passing herself off as British. She should care more about the roots where she came from. And I believe that for Brangelina too. We should take care of our own first.

Because if we let the celebs adopt a kid so easily and at random it will only be a matter of time before some poor kid will be abused or neglegted when the novelty wears off

Why should anybody care about that?
Its a fookin publicity stunt, and its turning into a fasion statment,
Theyll all be doing it soon,

Hey look at my son , I rescued him from Cambodia!

Well hey Biatch My Daughter's much better than your son coz I rescued him fromSudan where the rebels were gonna take her away.

Then another one will come along and Say,

Ohh No , You know Im the bestest foster mum because I adopted conjoined twins from a well in south america.

Catch my drift?

Its a media stunt, its very coincidental how her new single is released the week she adopts a baby and makes front page of every paper. This is very cruel.

Madonna made it public. She was the one that got the cameras involved and had them following her around. She's lost her grip on the public and she's desperate for the publicity.

an everyday person would have to go through hoops to adopt a child but celebrities get fast tracked and trivialise the process making it seem like its something you can arrange at your local supermarket.
