Is Erasmus worth doing when at the end of the day when you graduate, employers evaluate work experience more than the actual degree obtained?

I chose not to go, but almost all my class went - we were told to because it makes an unbelievable difference to your level of fluency. If you're confident enough in that respect tho, I wouldn't bother. It's bound to be a great experience and probably would look good on a CV, but if you could spend the year getting good work experience it'd look even better. Good luck!

i came back from germany 2months ago after having been on my erasmus year. it was the best year of my life. not only did i improve my german immensely, i also grew as a person....it's so confidence building to go to a new country, alone, and be forced to make friends. all this, plus speaking the host language for long periods of time gives you a great sense of satisfaction. and of course, its much cheaper to go for a night out cos everythings so damn cheap when ur not in england!!

not only do employers evaluate work experience, the fact that you've spent a year in a foreign country shows experience in using the language in a real life situations. and, of course it shows you have the guts to challenge yourself.

hope you make the right decision

I didn't do languages but all of my friends did - the general consensus from them was that doing work placements on your year abroad is more fulfilling and better for your language skills than taking university courses with erasmus. They thought erasmus was fun, but not as useful in the long run as working abroad was.

yeah, I got an A for someone in college and I never went ??? I guess it's all because they want to produce a well-rounded individual, or some B.S. ! And maybe doing Erasmus, makes you a more open-minded and fair person.
