I use to skip 3 to 5 months at a time when I was young. I would recommend seeing a Dr - they have treatments to make you regular - like "the pill" - I was on it at age 13 to regulate the cycles - after having kids (at age 26 and later) - regular cycles were no longer a problem. But, please see a Dr to make sure that this is the only problem, best of luck...

First off, how old are you? There is no 'normal' when it comes to us and our periods. Sometimes if you are into sports or are athletic, you may not have a period for months. If you have lost alot of weight, that will cause it. Are you under alot of stress? Can you go to a clinic to find out for sure if you are not pregnant, or have an STD, or maybe something else is going on. If you are underage, you can go to a Planned Parenthood clinic in your area, (with a friend is best ), and have all your questions answered with no worries. I wish you the best of luck.

The only time I missed my period and it was "normal" was when I was in basic training. I had literally no fat on my body. I weighed 125 and i was 5'7" and of course, I was very fit. If you are under a lot of stress sometimes your body will miss or become irregular.
Have you been on any oral Contraceptive? 4 months is a long time to have missed. You need to see your gynecologist to make sure you are ok.

You should go to the doctor.
Home pregnancy tests are not 100%.
But there could be another problem. Depending on your age it could be a lot of differant things.
I have been through this myself! and have Had friends go through it. Just to make sure there is no medical reason go to the doctor. There is a Rx that can be given to start your period. I took that years ago to get my going! Good luck.

Store bought tests are not always accurate. Go to your doctor or a free clinic like Planned Parenthood. If you're not pregnant, they can check you out for other health issues like unusual growths in your uterus, etc. Also, are you eating right? Sometimes eating disorders will make your body stop letting blood just to save resources. Either way you need to see a doctor, just to make sure. Good luck.

Certainly doesn't sound healthy unless you'e just started having your periods, cos they are a bit shakey at the start.
Have you been dieting? Losing weight fast is a sure way to miss periods.
Either way, the best way to find out what is wrong is to go to your doctor.

It could be related to:
1) stress
2) anorexia or other malnutrition
3) sports and too much exercise
4) a more serious health issue
The only way to be sure is to talk to a doctor about it. It may be embarrassing, but you need to see a doctor.

Go talk to your doctor, although remember the more you stress the more it could throw off your cycle. PS Home prego tests aren't one hundred percent accurate.

well... i don't know what the problem is, but my friend had her first period, then a second, then no more for like 6 months. When she went to the doctor they just put her on birth control to regulate her period. She still has to take it, because without it her period is never right. I dunno what her problem is, but if it's the same as her's, then you need birth control.
