All politicians should only be allowed to serve a certain amount of terms, we would get new blood in the system guarenteed.
With the presidency being two terms you allow for fresh blood unfortunately look who picks the runner the political party, at least you get to pick your leader. Last presidential election over 50% picked Bush. You ave had presidencies where an elected president had less than 50%. You also need to change the election process as one vote per person most votes win... not the point process.
Here in Canada we had a leader that damaged relations and such because there was no term limit here. Our last PM was leader for 11 years. And did more damage than good. If he left after 8 years half of the problems would not have happened (maybe) Canada needs a leader elected by the people, not by the political party.
At least in two years the anti bush-whackers will not have him there again.
Thanks to your laws you can have a change in leadership.

It is possible to RUN as many times as you want. The 22nd amendment prohibits anyone from being ELECTED more that 2 times.
rumeoui said the 22nd amendment does not prevent a former President from being elected Vice-President. That is technically true. The 12th amendment states that 'no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.' Taken together with the 22nd amendment, this would most likely be interpreted to prevent a 2 term President from being elected Vice-President.

Not after FDR changed America from a failure to a success, and the Republicans where so upset for being out of power for 18 years that they changed the Constitution to allow only two terms as President, max. The Twenty-Second, XXII, Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. Ratified February 22, 1951.

Not any more. After Democrat FDR served 4 terms as President (and died in office) the Republicans were fed up. After WWII, with Republican Eisenhower in office, Congress passed a law to prevent a President from serving more than 2 terms. Of course, the first President to be affected by this law, was a Republican.

No,Only Two Terms!! but, if President Bush decided to (In act) Martial Law, than the President can (Remain) President Indefinitely & hold off all & any (Elections) Indefinately & remain being President Of The United States Of America...The 22nd Amendment of the Constution of the United States contradicts (Itself) because a former President may in (Fact) run for the **Vice Presidency** & be Vice President... The Amendment failed to Illistrate the role of Vice President...Thank You!!! rumeoui !

First of all: Dr. Dino you are an IDIOT.
To answer the question: anybody can be elected to the office and be re-elected.
A president can run again AFTER being out of office, but precedent gives that the president retires after one or two terms in office.
In regards to FDR, America doesn't like to change presidents while in a war! Just look at the moron that got re-elected!!!
