Yes! There are a couple tricks. Always fill a cartridge that is operating correctly before you fill it. That means, top off a cartidge not a completely empty one. The reason for this is that the nozzles have tiny ceramic heaters that expand and contract the nozzles to make the cartidge work. Those little heaters are cooled by the ink and if run to empty overheat and burn out. That's why lots of people are not successful in refilling. There is no fix for a burned out heater. The manufacturer's designed them that way on purpose.

2nd - Only use clean water to clean the cartridge nozzle plate. A damp Q-tip works best.

3rd - If you should have any blockage to the nozzles, place the cartridge on a damp paper towel for 15 to 30 minutes with the nozzle in contact with the paper towel. After waiting dab (NOT RUB) the cartridge on the paper towel. You should see ink appear in little lines.

4th - Don't overfill. Know how much ink the cartridge takes and fill short. You'll find that each cartidge will fill multiple times until the heaters burn out.

Put it back in the printer and test print.

I have a lexmark X75 and I have only had luck with reloading ink myself once per cartridge. My sister can reload her Hewlett Packard twice. The cost savings for even the one time is great . I save $40 to refill both color and Black, but enough ink comes for two refills and the second doesn't work so I end up saving $20 which is still good for every other time.

Yes, IF you are careful and follow instructions. I have only refilled black cartridges for HP, and they worked fine, and i saved money. BUT, you cannot pre-fill a cartridge for future use; the nozzles will clog and dry up, and make the cartridge unusable. Only refill a recently emptied cartridge.
Color? I have no experience with, but the same warning would hold true.
ALSO note, most Mfgs will void the warranty if they know you are using bootleg cartridges. They make their money on INK, not the sale of hardware.

It is and you'll save a lot if you have Brother, Canon, Dell, Lexmark or HP printer. If you have Epson don't bother. There is cheap compatible cartridges, plus refill process litle complicated. You can get refill kit at http://fillserv.com/cic/category.php?category=Fillserv+Refill+Kits

It never worked for me.

Now I use the generic version of the ink. You can buy them for $3-5, on line, instead of $20-50. This is the best option for me.

Type "ink for --- (your printer)". You will get at least a couple of dozen companies selling ink on line. Go for the best price

it'll void your printer warranty for sure. if you want to get the best out of your printer use the original ink. if you want to save money try to get a compatible ink. it's cheaper and safer, safe for your printer. normally when you refill your ink it'll leak and the print result sometime become very bad.
