That is common, though not as common as in the 19th and early 20th century.

If a woman got married at seventeen or eighteen and had babies over a twenty year period, it is very possible for the oldest daughter to get married and have a child BEFORE her youngest sibling is born.

It happens in many "second time around" families, where kids from the father's first marriage grow up and get married and have kids of their own at the same time daddy's second wife has kids.

My husband's younger brother was an uncle at age three! His sister was eighteen when her first child was born.

I had a friend in college who was nineteen and his auntie was fourteen years old. It's true.

I have 32 nieces and nephews that are older than me. As a matter of fact, I was a great great aunt by the time I turned 19. My fathers 90 though and had most his children 60 years ago. I'm 29.

It is normal for people from large families to be older than an Aunt or Uncle, or with people that re-marry and have more kids later on. My Brother-in-law's Uncle is about 15 years younger than him as his Grandfather re-married a woman much younger and had more kids.

A little but it's not that strange... my husband's aunt's daughter and our daughter are the same age if you followed me there - his grandmother had children spanning over 15 yrs so it was only natural that the oldest children would have kids not much older than the youngest sibling.

In my opinion I don't think it's weird. My friend was an aunt the moment she was born. I guess if you know it exists and are used to it it's not so weird.

My friend was telling me that:

her big brother's girlfriend was pregnant. So therefor the baby as soon as she/he is born it will be an aunt or uncle.
