Blood Tests:
There are two types of blood tests. A quantitative blood test measures the exact amount of hCG in the blood, and a qualitative hCG blood test gives a simple yes or no answer to whether you are pregnant or not.
Advantages of having a blood test done:
Can detect a pregnancy earlier than a urine test at about 7-12 days from possible conception ( but if a negative result is received, a test should be repeated if a period is missed.)
Can measure the concentration of hCG hormone in your blood (this is useful information for your healthcare provider in tracking certain problems in pregnancy)
Disadvantages to having a blood test done:
More expensive than a urine test (price depends on cost of doctor's visit and lab fees)
Takes longer to get result
Must be done in a doctor's office

I had a blood test done with my last pregnancy in the emergency room after I had passed out in a store...and it was negative. Then I found out two weeks later was pregnant and was about 6 weeks along with triplets. Unfortunately, I miscarried them at 15 weeks...which may have been why the blood test was innaccurate because my hormone levels were too low. If you don't get a period soon, I would have it rechecked or suggest an ultrasound.

All tests have factored in a probability of failure slightly less than 5% and slightly more than 4% on the bell shaped curve. But the probability is greater that you are pregnant on a blood test than you are not as they monitor the hormonal levels. But if the test was made inaccurately sensitive to these hormones etc. it is possible it may be incorrect as to if you are or are not pregnant.

my blood test came back negative. My periods are every 22 days and although I was late and I knew i was 100% pregnant. my test still came out negative. so if its too early it will not be accurate. It was close to day 30 until my dr. could get the urine test to come out positive. Just give it time.

I think if it was taken enough time after conception. But it does show you are pregnant 7 days after conception.
Nothing is 100% sure but blood dosen't lie....
Blood tests are more accurate than urine tests
Good luck

Can not be wrong unless done to early. Your body needs two weeks after ovulation to start to produce HCG hormone (pregnancy hormone). And a pregnancy test is looking for the HCG Hormone.

It depends on what the results were. If it was + you are pregnant. If it has been less than 10 days since you had sex you will not get a + result as it take 7-10 days for the egg to implant after being fertilized.
