That is tragic. I don't think that "these days" as you say are any worse than they were in the past. I notice that you don't blame the knife and I say that for a reason. This is certainly not the first tme that something like this has occurred in America's long history. If a gun had been involved there would already be posts saying that this is why guns should be abolished. Since this tragedy involved a common kitchen knife, I bet you don't hear a call for the abolishment of kitchen knives. I make this point to illustrate that things like this happen. It is a fact of life. I don't think that anybody can successfully answer your question. There are a lot of good people in this country, and a lot of misguided ones as well. If this had occurred between two 14 year old friends, I doubt that it would have made the news. Since it was twin brothers, there is an element of sensationalism in the event, so the news media will jump right on something like that. I do think that the violent video games and violence in the media has in and of itself been the cause of a lot of violent responses to problems in real life. Again, a situation like this is tragic, but I don't think it represents the responses of most Americans as a solution to their problems. People are the problem--------and the solution. You cannot indict America as a whole for what is happening these days. This has been going on in mans relationships all over the world as far back as you would care to look. There is no such thing as "these days" It has always been this way and probably always will be. The human race is not perfect. We make mistakes and acts like this are not uncommon throughout world history. This tragedy is certainly not an indictment of the values of a majority of Americans.

I think it's heartbreaking. I would be a better person if I never heard this story. News often spreads stuff that plants seeds of evil into us all. Kids are plugging into violent video games, watching violent tv, and have violent parents (both mom & dad's).
I have dreamed of creating a news channel focusing on how we work together rather than tear each other apart. Think about all the good going on. Ppl are working to ensure electricity is running, plumbing & water flow to many ppl, teachers help students. Dunno ... I think society would be better with a full time positive network tv station.

I haven't heard of this yet, but I belive it! I don't know where America is going, but it's not a good place, thats for sure! Stabbing someone, your own brother, over a pack of gum is just crazy! He should go to prison for the rest of his life!

there is an superior fee of homosexuality in twins than in unmarried births. If one twin is gay, then there's a 50% threat that the different would be too. there won't be all that lots incorrect with gay twins experimenting sexually with one yet another. a minimum of they are no longer out experimenting with strangers, and its unlike there is any threat of being pregnant. the only subject I see, is their age.

This is what I think is happening to America. We are busy fighting illegal wars and killing innocent women and children on foreign soils, thus neglecting our own children. Killing is a killing, whether its for OIL in Iraq or for a peace of gum on a kitchen counter.

I haven't found much information on these two boys. How did the police profile this kid?
Anyone else out there want to breed? I think I'll pass for now.

Wow, I didn't hear about that. I think there would of been some warning flags before something like this happens and should be dealt with to prevent something like this.

I cried.
That is one of the saddest things that I have ever heard, and I can only hope that it isn't going to become the norm. :(
