We were evicted because we had nowhere else to go and now it's impossible to find somewhere to live because of it . what kind of sense is that!?How and where do i find somewhere to live thatisn't going to do formal credit/background/eviction chk. we are employed and have varifiable income. personal references. just suffer from poor money management. that doesn't mean we don't deserve a place to live does it?

As long as you can pay two months in advance and this month's rent now, you won't have any trouble.

You should contact your local or county/regional housing authority office. If you're eligible for financial assistance, they can help. Otherwise, they can likely help refer you to a rental which may not require too much background investigation.

Most organized apartment communities, and/or those which are managed or owned by national companies will likely refuse to rent to you if you have a criminal record or prior public records of default in rental housing. Your best bet is going to be to stick with smaller places (mom & pop), and I would guess that local newspapers or bulletin board ads might be best bet.

One thing to keep in mind is that the reason why many communities will refuse to rent to someone with a criminal record, is that if you had a history of violence or predatory behavior and the apartment community "overlooked" it, and then later you went out and mugged someone in the parking lot, the apartment community can be help criminally liable for your conduct, as it was aware of this prior events. It's not about you per se, it's about the litiguous nature of the world we live in.

Best of luck.

You might seek the help of a family member and have them lease a place for you... OR... I have rentals and there are times when I am in a jam and need the money and I'll rent on the spot without checking references... keep looking there is always a desperate landlord out there... OR... you could offer double on the security deposit... hope this helps... good luck...
