to get a different perspective on things i feel it has to come naturally. you have to feel what your writing, to experience it, or at least know what it feels like to experience it. I myself am a songwriter. i do not focus on writing the song, but showing how i feel through it. Any one can sit down and string chord patterns together. When writing a song, if not about something you've experienced, focus on a theme, the motivation, why is this person singing this, what emotions are they trying to put forward, who is it directed at? Don't think too hard about lyrics, let it come naturally. I know to some people this seems like the biggest load of bull out, but this is how i work. It helps if your given a theme. When writing, try and put yourself in the position of the character/person that's singing it. this is what helps me.
hope this helps.

Don't sit down to write your music, instead, write your music in your head as you go about life, then sit down every once in a while and record it on paper. If you sit down and try to write a song, you probably won't get anything good, because you are basically trying to inspire yourself. Just go about your day, and you know how now and then something just pops in your head, well take that and run with it. I do it regardless where I am. I'll be in the mall, and think of a tune and just start singing and people look at me like WTH but hey, who cares.

Pour your soul into you work, you have to live it - life that is - live it, be in touch with yourself, work lines out in your mind, toy with words, as you pace down the street have the rhythm in your mind, play with rhymes... you cant become a lyrical genius overnight, but once you absorb yourself in your work you will find it easier, words will trip off your tongue. Write things close to your heart, your life experience, you cant get the spirit in your words if you havent lived it...

Good luck hey?! Hope to hear a release some time...

Try using words that you like, but don't, know the definitions too. Then look them up and make them make sense for you in your life. Nothing to do with Tupac, be your own voice and never give up.

all i can say is...dont try to be like anyone else, especially Tupac.

Be who GOD has called you to be, and if you dont know what that is, then ask Him urself, and wait for a response.

Be patient. It will come.

Some people have a natural talent and it comes easier to them. Others might have to work harder. You're not going to become uber-poetic overnight, you have to work.

I don't think you can "train" to become poetic. It's not a sport. You've either got it or you don't. Just my opinion.

Utilise the power of the Limerick

I'll start one for you

There was a drug dealer from Spain
Who smuggled his gear on a train
The cops did get wise
And to his surprise
