how many athletes would wear glasses in the following sports if contacts hadn't been (and couldn't be) invented?
basketball, swimming, soccer, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, water polo, (hs/college) wrestling, football, hockey?

I'd wear glasses in basketball, soccer, baseball, and volleyball ((maybe hockey)), but that's it. Even those would be risky, because you could still get hit in the face and break your glasses. For the water sports, it would be REALLY hard to wear glasses, and for contact sports like wrestling and football, you'd pretty much need new glasses after every game/match. So if contacts hadn't been invented, I think we'd be pretty doomed in the sports world.

well i have glasses, and unfortunatly my parents don't think i'm responsible enough to have contacts, so i paly volleyball with my glasses on.
