Because people who ask for a sex change argue that they had no choice as to how they were born. Those who were sterilised did so by choice and were probably warned at the time that they should consider it final. Not fair, I know, but the way it is.

The sex change is a sterilization procedure. You can't reverse that. It wouldn't be fair then, would it?
Actually, the sex change is a treatment for gender dysphoria. Technically, it is possible to make the reversal, it would look like heck and wouldn't work worth beans. But that would be an elective that the individual would have to pay for. What you are asking is an elective you will have to pay for. Sorry dude, but I bet they warned you before you got it, just like the transsexuals were warned that there really isn't any going back. They got 1-2 years of preparation, how long did you take to decide on your vasectomy?

As a transgendered man or woman I help GRS via healthcare structures yet a reversal operation seems pointless interior the 1st place... Its certainly one of those huge step and could no longer be reversable... so as that decision IS non-obligatory. The orginal operation is considered a treatment for severe gender dysphoria and is a valid corrective surgical operation in line with years of phycological finding out and assessment. At that factor a transsexual that wanted to opposite gender expression is quite left with crossdressing to thier beginning gender.

because the original sterilisation was the individual's choice and they just changed their mind. With a sex change a person's original gender is decided before they are born, they don't get to choose.

Coz you are supposed to be sure that the sterilisation is right for you before it is done. And reversal is a pretty uncertain procedure.

dunno. but i think it would be because you have made the choice to be sterilized as you dont want any more kids. whereas a sex change could mean you are unhappy as you are and you are sure you were supposed to be a member of the opposite sex.
