where do great deeds come from?

people who wake up in the morning and say Hey! I Can Do That, so I will, or

people who can't get to sleep at night, thinking, something has to change and I can't rest knowing what it is and knowing how it could be fixed. I Must Do That. Here goes...

and where are you from? I have a theory that where you're from may affect your answer here.

Mostly must do. Necessity is the mother of invention.

I'm better at doing what I can do than what I must do, I get great personal feel good vibes fizzing inside me when I do good deeds and when I must do something I will do it however hard it is but yea I just do whatever I feel I have to do. I do love doing stuff for other people though, little treats like cups of coffee or little pressies or doing someones ironing for no reason. I sound like a fairy or something (There is a a wicked she devil in there somewhere too though for the fun times!!)
I'm from Dublin, Ireland.

I imagine they can come from both. I can tell you though that being courageous is often a "must do" than a "can do". Daring deeds are not without fear and are more likely to originate somewhere from within where not do something isn't an option.

Unfortunately I believe many people feel they must do good deeds to acheive some kind of spiritual reward such as heaven or good Kharma rather than just doing something good for the sake of doing something good.

I come from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania U.S.A.

Got to be a MUST DO - can do is too wishy washy with must do you take action there and then and it can affect the rest of your life and often does for me. I have changed the direction of my life several times with an I MUST DO and this can happen in a second! Once done it is often too late to turn back, so you must have the courage of your convictions.

I think truly great deeds come from waking up in the morning and thinking 'I MUST'. The 'I can do that' doesn't seem to have enough oomph for Great Deeds!

I'm from Cornwall, UK.

Can do as I was told a long time ago that there is no such word as can't do until you have tried it first.
