Should gays be allowed to marry, have children, or even have sex?

If we say NO to any of these things aren't we really policing the BIBLE, instead of allowing people to pursue life liberty and their pursuit of happiness? Should there maybe be a separation of Churches and Religion?

Gays should be alowed to do whatever they want to, just like anyone else should be too. The only thing the government has a right to do is tax for national security and provide an army for such a purpose. Otherwise, let the gays do gay things, let the druggies get high, let the kids drive without seatbelts, let me write answers and ask questions on Y! Answers without getting reported, you know, actually be free

Sure - why not?

First - I think gays should be able to marry. People who say that they shouldn't because it cheapens their marriage never say how it does this. What does it matter to how you relate to your spouse if there is a gay married couple next door, across town, across the country? Are you more likely to get divorced if they do live next door? Are you more likely to beat your spouse, or cheat on them? If not, how does it hurt a marriage?

Next, kids - I know of 2 gay men who are raising 2 of the 3 kids that one fathered while he was married to a woman. I've met the woman, and I feel that the kids are better off with the 2 guys than the woman. They are attentive and caring parents, much more so than she ever will be. They are certainly better parents than a lot of straight couples I know. I see no reason that gays shouldn't be allowed to be parents.

Finally - sex. Fundies, are you kidding? Do you really think you have the "right" to try to stop what goes on between 2 consenting adults? So long as nobody is hurt, or degraded, or debased, what does it matter if it's 2 guys, 2 women, 3 woman and 1 guy, or whatever combination you care to come up with?

As a Christian, you would think my first inclination would be to say no. But I believe that we all have sins, and one person should not be treated differently than another. Should people who cheat on their wives and beat their children be allowed to marry? If we let them marry, why shouldn't society accept that two gay people can love each other in the same way two straight people can? I don't believe gay sex is right, but neither is it right for me to steal from Walmart or to do drugs, or to have sex before I'm married, all of which I've done int he past. Most Christians are so busy fighting about what's right and wrong, that they're not looking at themselves and seeing that morality is a personal venture between you and God. Theyshould be out helping people who are hungry or oppressed rather than fighting about stupid things. Society will become corrupt and there's nothing we can do but slightly prolong it, or even bring it on faster by fighting it. Fighting it only dissolves our credibility. Doing something for the world, however has a much larger impact on society and how much people accept Christianity. Who's more likely to accept Christ? Someone who is being helped with food and money and life as a gesture of pure kindness, or someone who is being ridiculed because they don't have a job or they do drugs or whatever?

People are going to be people no mater how or what you do.

The quesiton is what kind of obediance are we doing for God? And what examples are we doing for Children?

Example: Abortions have been done for hundreds of years- mostly chemically using arsnic, but sometimes using a coat hanger or a "backyard doctor". Some doctors did abortions ILLEGALLY- then, when caught told the proscuitor "Well, I did one for your wife- this WILL be a public record and you'll be going to jail too if you do this"

For some strange reason, the charges were dropped. This took place in Bellingham, Washington back in the 1940's

I agree that all of these things should be allowed. I have problems with the way you try to make your points. I don't get the policing the bible inference. And separation of churches and religion from what? From each other? You have to be a bit clearer, as personally, I like what you are trying to do, and your heart is definitely in the right place.

look to be honest i have no problems with people who are gay
and furthermore i have no problems with them being married and adopting children there are alot of children out there that need help but here is my biggest problem one in which i question all the time some people say gay people are born gay ok but

how do i explain to my son when two males are frenching how do i explain to him that this type of behavior isnt bad but its not the way id like you to do things?

Do i think its ok for gays to do all the above sure

as long as they keep there affection inside the home or where it cant be seen holding hands and stuff like that im not having problems with its making out in public some people do that and i dont see it in the norm for my child

NO , NO , NO !!! "WE " can say whatever " WE " want to say !! It is God`s Word that condemns the "sin" of queers and lesbians !! " WE " can say and do whatever " WE " want to do because of the gift of free will from the Lord !! Just because " WE " want to do whatever makes us happy during our earthly lifetime , if it is against God`s Natural Laws , you are forfeiting your Eternal lifetime !!! If you want to disobey God`s word , then you have already seperated yourself from The Church and from Religion !! Queers and lesbians cannot have children of their own . They cannot create a living being by sexual intercourse with each other with both being of the same sex ??? Common sense tells you that a child is created only by a Man and a Woman . If this were not so , then the human race would have ceased to exist many years ago , as queers and lesbians cannot reproduce by their sexual encounters of man with man or woman with woman !!
