I need a laptop for school, what is my best choice for the lowest price, one of those pay as you go plans and where can I find out about that? Also, do you need good credit for that and if you dont have good credit, where can you get the loaner laptop?

No, I am not confusing it with the cell phone plan. It is something I have heard about, you pay monthly and then once you pay it off, you can keep it.

Rent to Own stores do this.
Also, bluehippo in the US, and Canada has one similar but by a dif name, MVR or something ... will sell you one on credit, even with bad credit.

HOWEVER .... in both of these cases, you will pay far more for the computer than it is worth .... as much as 2 or 3 times the real value of it. It's really not worth it.

Here are some other suggestions:

If you just need it for shcool, then you just need the basic capabilities, so consider an older laptop.

Try ebay ... be careful as far as who you buy from, and do your research so you know what you are getting, but you can get decent used computers for anywhere from $75 on up. I got one for $125 in 2000 on ebay that lasted 5 years, being used by three teens, and dragged all over the place.

Check with your local freecycle. Someone in your area might have one they will give away. I got one for my daughter for college this way.

Good Luck!!

I think you are confusing the pay as you go with a cell phone plan.

i suggest you don't get one of those, though the credit is easy, in the end you'll end up paying 3x what you'd pay for it at a retial store.
